The role of obesity in promoting or preventing the complications of haemodialysis patients remains unclear, with several studies suggesting that obesity may even be beneficial. This study shows that abdominal fat deposition in haemodialysis patients is linked to both inflammation and protein-energy wasting, resulting in an increased mortality risk. |
