6th International Symposium on Wine and Health
in conjunction with the 15th Budapest Nephrology School
26 August 2008
Special Evening:
Symposium with the lecture entitled „Cardiovascular Effects of Red Wine” together with a dinner reception with elaborate wine tasting accompanied by a lecture on Hungarian wines and vineyards.
Wine has always been important to Hungarians with its several thousand-year history in the mankind’s life. Despite the fact that there are 24 historical vineyards in our country, among them so famous places as Tokaj, Villány, Badacsony and the culture and long tradition of wine consumption, there is a high incidence of cardiovascular disease with the resultant alarmingly low life expectancy in this region.
This symposium will provide a good opportunity for scientific exchange of views and informal discussions with members of faculty and also with the representatives of the medical experts and “the Hungarian Wine Academy”.
