The National Federation for Aid to Renal Insufficiency patients
was created in 1972 by some fifteen dialysed patients who wanted to improve
the life and care of persons suffering from renal failure. They were convinced
that a high-quality dialysis could stimulate a social, familial and recreative
rehabilitation.
Today, after 30 years of existence, the FNAIR has 11 000 adherents and federates
24 regional organizations.

The organisation for information and research on renal genetic diseases was created in 1988 by some families and physicians to become a place of exchange, support and initiative to give information about genetic renal diseases and their prevention.
TRANS-FORME was created in 1989 by some sportive transplanted patients, accompanied by some physicians, all convinced by the happy issue of physical and sportive activity. Theu decided to create together TRANS-FORME, the Association Fédérative Française des Sportifs Transplantés et Dialysés.
