Marc De Broe is a Professor of Medicine, former head of the Department of Nephrology and now Scientific advisor of the Pathophysiology Research unit at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. Professor De Broe is a recognised leader in his field, with core research interests in nephrotoxicity, renal osteodystrophy, and the acute and chronic effects of ischaemia reperfusion injury. His group is responsible for authoring more than 350 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, books or book chapters in the last 20 years. Professor De Broe’s expertise is recognized by his presence on the editorial boards of most top nephrology journals, including Kidney International, where he has been Associate Editor since 2005. In addition, he is Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Nephrotoxins: Renal Injury from Drugs and Chemicals (Kluwer Academic Publishers), the standard and comprehensive text on nephrotoxicity. |
