The 5 papers selected for this 287th issueof NDT-E issue cover again  a broad range of topics. The first 3 are recent NDT papers. H. Izzedine and MA Perazella first publish on ”Onco-nephrology: an appraisal of the cancer and chronic kidney disease links”. Next, JL Vogelzang et al. report on “Mortality from infections and malignancies in patients treated with renal replacement therapy: data from the ERA-EDTA registry.” And next, RA Lugmani reviews “Disease assessment in systemic vasculitis”.

In CKJ next, H. Fröhlich et al. publish on “Peritoneal ultrafiltration in end-stage heart failure.” Finally, again from CKJ, GHB Greenhall and AD Salama discuss ”What is new in the management of rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis?”


CME lectures 

The 3 CME lectures selected for this issue all deal with a topic of substantial current interest: ischemic preconditioning.

Dr Kristin Veighey (London, UK), first deals with “The potential of ischemic preconditioning in kidney transplantation”. Then, Pr Michel Ovize (Lyon, France) presents on "Ischemic conditioning in acute myocardial infarction: evidence for a clinical benefit”. Finally, Pr Mohammad Magdi Yaqoob (London, UK) covers ”Ischaemic preconditioning: journey from bench to bedside.”
