Editorial issue 308

The first 4 papers of this 308th issue of NDT-E all were recently published in NDT.
In the first one, R. Poesen et al. study "The influence of renal transplantation on retained microbial-human co-metabolites". In the second one, W Van Biesen and E Nagler publish "A Swiss army knife for estimating kidney function: why new equations will not solve the real problem". Next K Praditpornsilpa K et al report on "Immunogenicity and safety of quadrivalent human papillomavirus types 6/11/16/18 recombinant vaccine in chronic kidney disease stage IV, V and VD". And F Bridoux F et al discuss "Is there still a place for autologous stem cell transplantation in systemic AL amyloidosis with severe renal disease?".
Finally, the 5th paper was recently published in CKJ. A Kramer et al publish on "Renal replacement therapy in Europe: a summary of the 2013 ERA-EDTA Registry Annual Report with a focus on diabetes mellitus.”

CME lectures   
The 2 lectures released with this issue of NDT-E deal with some aspects of uremici toxicity. Pr J. Marino Rodriguez (Cordoba, Spain) presents a useful overview devoted to "Endothelial microparticles and vascular calcification".
Then, Pr Bernd Stegmayr (Umea, Sweden) reviews "Dialysis procedures and artificial toxicity in uraemic patients".
