Editorial issue 318

Let me start this 318th edito with a refreshing news: L Koppe et al indeed report in the J Clin Invest  that "Urea impairs β cell glycolysis and insulin secretion in chronic kidney disease". An important step in the longstanding  debate regarding the specific  toxicity of urea!

Next F Galletti F and P Strazzullo  discuss in NDT  another important topic in nephrology. The title of their paper is "The blood pressure salt sensitivity paradigm: pathophysiologically sound yet of no practical value".
Finally, in the classical PRO/CON/MODERATOR format, T Rauen  et al and C Pozzi et al discuss the place of immunosuppression in IgA nephropathy.RJ Glassock concludes with the "Moderator's view: Treatment of IgA nephropathy-getting comfortable with uncertainty".
