Short Description

In this course basic and clinical aspects of diseased bo(renal osteodystrophy) as a

consequence of CKD will be addressed. Novel diagnostic tools will be positioned like

micro-CT, pq-CT, DEXA and PET scanning. In addition the current clinical applicability

of novel therapeutic options, with an emphasis on biologicals will be addressed, and

positioned against established treatment. During parallel meet-the-expert sessions,

bone-histology based treatment decisions will be discussed chaired by a clinician and

bone biologist. The parallel meet-the-expert session will deal with clinical assessment

of fracture risk, using current and emerging diagnostic techniques. See the program

for additional details. Currently, as of november 2015, all, but two proposed

lecturers and chairs have already consented, and the contribution of professor M .

Fukagawa as representative of the Japanese Society of Nephrology is confirmed.
