Short Description
It will be structured in four thematic sessions and one meet the expert session as follows:

Obesity and wasting in CKD: lessons from malignancy and microbes: update on mechanisms, contributors and consequences for the kidney and the cardiovascular system of obesity and wasting in CKD
The gut and the kidneys: a bad marriage can be hazardous
Diet and microbiota: implications for the CKD patient
Lessons from malignancy-associated wasting
Obesity related CKD and hypertension-pathogenesis and treatment

Novel contributors to CKD progression: update on novel contributors to CKD progression that also contribute to mortality and cardiovascular disease with emphasis on implications for clinical management
The role of sympathetic activity in CKD progression
The contribution of genetic epidemiology to our understanding of the link between uric acid and atherosclerosis and progression to ESRD in CKD
Clinical trials targeting inflammation to prevent CKD progression

Meet the expert session

CKD-MBD: new players and novel roles for older stars:update on novel players and clinical implications of better known actors for the kidney and cardiovascular system
Bone-Vascular axis: the potential role of osteoblasts
FGF-23 - marker or mediator of cardiovascular disease.
Phosphate and cardiovascular disease toxicity in CKD
Sclerostin and its implications for patients with CKD-MBD

RAAS blockade and beyond: update on current status on RAAS blockade for kidney and cardiovascular protection, the ways around its adverse effects and novel approaches beyond the RAAS
Personalization of RAAS blockade strategies
Hyperkalemia management during RAAS inhibition
Clinical experience beyond RAAS blockade in diabetic kidney disease
