For this 311st issue of NDT-E, let us start with a basic research paper.
F Grahammer  et al indeed recently published in the JCI that "mTORC2 critically regulates renal potassium handling.".
Next, 3 good recent papers from NDT. DP Gale et al report "A novel COL4A1 frameshift mutation in familial kidney disease: the importance of the C-terminal NC1 domain of type IV collagen.". This might be called the ever expanding spectrum of familial glomerular disease! Next, AA Bernardo AA et al report on "Clinical safety and performance of VIVIA: a novel home hemodialysis system.". And BR Hemmelgarn discuss how best "Determining the research priorities for patients with chronic kidney disease not on dialysis.".
Finally, H Trivedi H report in Clin Kidney J  on "High prevalence of chronic kidney disease in a semi-urban population of Western India.".

CME lectures   
The 2 CME lectures for this issue deal with very important topics. Pr Tilman B Drueke (Villejuif, France), emeritus Editor of NDT, first addresses "Salt - a health problem ?". This was one the plenary lectures at ERA-EDTA in London.
