Short Description:
This course in nephropathology is a three day course for nephrologists (trainees) and pathologists (trainees). The aim of this course is to learn everything you need to know about renal biopsy and its interpretation. The course covers the different clinical and pathological patterns of renal diseases (excluding renal transplantation). An important part of the course is the interactive examination of renal biopsies using fully digitalized microscopy including immunofluorescence and electron-microscopy. The course starts and ends-up with a pathology Quiz. Moreover, each day, state-of-the-art lectures on the pathogenesis of renal diseases are scheduled. At the end of the course, participants should be able to understand the pathophysiology and clinical aspects of renal diseases, with emphasis on clinico-pathological correlations. All participants will receive a full-colour syllabus with the practical cases and free access for one year to digital slidebox with all digitalized renal biopsies studied during the course. This course has been organized in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011 with the financial support of ERA-EDTA and has been really well-evaluated by the participants.
