The aim of this symposium/course is to provide a physiological basis for the investigation and management of some of the most common fluid and electrolyte problems seen by nephrologists, internists, and intensivists in their clinical practice. This will be done by a combination of short expert talks that will review our current understanding of the relevant physiological principles and pathophysiology - setting the scene - followed by actual clinical case examples presented by another clinical expert to illustrate how these principles can be applied and also what the practical limitations may be in trying to do this.
Duration will be approximately 3 h 20 min in total.
