cardiac patients. Patient education and health promotion.
9. Epidemiology and quality of life related research.
10. Epidemiology of hypertension and its risk factors in Debrecen.
11. Epidemiological study of juvenile hypertension in Debrecen.
BASIC RESEARCH

1. Role of heme
proteins, heme oxygenase and ferritin in free radical mediated vascular endothelial
and tubular epithelial cell injury.
2. Mechanism of LDL oxidation. Oxidative resistance of LDL. Antioxidant capacity
of biological fluids.
3. New small molecular weight uremic toxins and their biological properties
and effects.
4. Study of the antioxidant activity and signal transduction mechanism of
newly synthesized antioxidants.
5. Induction of oxidative stress and stress-adaptation by ferriporphyrins
and heme proteins.
6. Determination of aluminium and other trace elements in chronic renal failure
patients.
7. Synthesis of new flavonolignans and study of their antioxidant properties.
