The use of cinacalcet for the treatment of persistent hyperparathyroidism in renal transplant recipients was effective in lowering iPTH and serum calcium, but the observed transient calciuria, which could potentially favor nephrocalcinosis and reduce bone mineral density, warrants cautious use of higher doses of cinacalcet. |
